Wallingford

Wallingford is a civil parish and an ancient market town situated in the upper Thames valley of England and located approximately 21 miles south of central Oxford. Although it was originally part of Berkshire it became part of the enlarging Oxfordshire area in 1974. Wallingford has a big presence in murder mystery fiction, especially those created by Agatha Christie, whose remains are in fact buried nearby. Agatha lived and worked in Wallingford and so the town had a great influence on her writings, especially the local landmarks and its residents. It is also recently become home to a television series named midsummer’s murders.
